Four Secrets to Achieving Success
By: OneCoach Inc.
We have often heard that money cannot buy happiness but it turns out that happiness can lead to more money.
In Getting Rich Your Own Way, psychologist and author Srully Blotnick cites a study that examines the connection between wealth and happiness.
The study consisted of 1,500 young people, divided into two groups. The participants in Group A were pursuing a career chosen for money, and Group B participants chose a career because it was what they loved to do. The number of participants in Group A outnumbered those in Group B by a five to one margin.
Researchers followed both groups for 20 years. At the end of 20 years, 101 participants were millionaires.
Only one of the millionaires came from Group A (career choice based on money); the remaining 100 were all from Group B! The 1,250 participants in Group A who chose a career with money as their primary objective produced only one wealthy person. By comparison, 100 of the 250 Group B participants became wealthy by pursuing happiness as their primary objective.
In our “do, be, achieve” society, the role of passion is often overlooked. We often believe that following a passion equates to settling for a lower income level. It is clear that the traditional belief system has flaws as it has yielded an overwhelming percentage of stressed-out, average income earners.
You can have it all – happiness and wealth. Here are tips that will help you to reconnect your passion and pursuit of wealth.
Follow your passion. There is nothing wrong with pursuing wealth, but it is much easier when doing something you absolutely love.
You invest a lot of time and energy into your business and as such it should be something that is worth trading your life to do. Passion drives you from bed each day – eager to engage in doing what you love.
Passion creates energy. Passion is infectious and energizing. Passion has the power to motivate you in the toughest times.
Your passion for your business also creates enthusiasm in your employees and customers. Your employees will catch the spark and work hard to achieve goals and customers will be drawn to your positive energy and enthusiasm for your product or service.
Change your perspective. If you are finding it difficult to be passionate about your business, change your perspective.
Rather than focusing on the product or service, examine how the product or service is delivered, the details and administration that make the product or service possible or the impact on the end user. In expanding your viewfinder, you are certain to find an aspect of your business for which you have passion.
Take time out. Your success in business depends on the right strategy and tactics, the right thoughts and attitudes, and competence and persistence.
Your attitudes and beliefs will drive your actions, so it is important to align them with your
objectives. Take time to visualize what you want to achieve. A quiet time of meditation will help you uncover your passion. Passion creates an emotional connection with your vision and can drive your focus.
Have you ever heard a millionaire declare that they attained riches by doing something that made them miserable? To live your best life and achieve unimaginable success, find your passion. You will then wake up every day with a clear vision and the drive to vigorously pursue your goals.
